Sean Dancer is stepping down from his role as head coach of the Ireland senior women's hockey team.

The squad failed to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris after losing to Great Britain in the Olympic qualifiers in January.

The Australian took over from Graham Shaw who led the team to a World Cup final against the Netherlands in 2019.

Dancer led the team to their first Olympic appearance, qualifying for the 2020 Games in Tokyo.
