Garvey’s Tralee Warriors will be looking to avenge their loss to Ballincollig in the National Cup final tonight when they welcome the champions to the Kerry Sports Academy for Round 16 of the Domino’s Men’s Super League.
The Warriors were comprehensively beaten in the Cup decider with the Cork side producing a spellbinding shooting display that effectively settled the contest long before the final buzzer sounded. Latrell Jossell was MVP on the night, landing 6 three pointers in the first quarter alone. In total Ballincollig amassed 20 major scores leaving the Warriors to chase the game from the opening exchanges.
The Warriors will be hoping that this contest plays out more like the sides meeting in Round 7 in Cork when the Tralee side succumbed to two late scores from Ballincollig who edged the tight contest by 85-82.
The Warriors overcame St. Vincent’s last weekend to secure their first win since the week before the Cup final. As well as the confidence boost, John Dowling had the comfort of a fully fit and in form squad to pick from and will be hoping his squad remains fit for the final seven games.
The first of these tips off tonight against Ballincollig with the following four remaining home games against opposition sitting below them on the table. The second of these takes place when the Warriors face EJ Sligo All Stars at the Kerry Sports Academy on Sunday with tip off at 4.00pm.
