Higher percent of player salaries to fall back on provinces

Irish provinces will now pay 40-per-cent of the salaries of centrally-contracted players.

That's according to the changes to the IRFU's funding model, which were revealed this afternoon.

The union intends to invest the funds generated by this move into the development of prospective players in Connacht, Munster and Ulster.
