Gary Keegan is understood to have been drafted in to the Lions coaching staff ahead of this summer's tour to Australia.
The performance coach has had a key role as part of the Irish backroom staff in recent years.
It's understood he will fulfill the same role in Andy Farrell's set-up this summer.
