Carrie Dolan scored six points and Ailish O'Reilly five as Cathal Murray's side overcame Tipperary by 1-18 to 1-11 at Nowlan Park.
Niamh Mallon grabbed the Galway goal with Karen Kennedy hitting the net for Tipperary.
