Furlong signs new one-year contract with Leinster and IRFU

Tadhg Furlong has signed a new one-year contract with Leinster and the IRFU.

The 28-year old was due to be out of contract at the end of this season.

Furlong was last week named in the Lions squad to tour South Africa, having started all three tests in 2017.

Ireland will play both the USA and Japan in test matches this July.

The IRFU have confirmed the news which comes after Ireland's proposed tour of Fiji was scrapped due to the pandemic.

Both games will be played at the Aviva Stadium with Japan arriving first for their test on Saturday July 3rd.

Ireland will then take on the USA on Saturday July 10th.

Quinn Roux is expected to join Toulouse after Connacht confirmed he’d be leaving at the end of this season.

The South African-born lock joined from Leinster in 2014, and his performances saw him play fourteen times for Ireland.
