French women's rugby player handed 12 match ban

France flanker Axelle Berthomieu has been banded for 12 matches after a bite on Ireland's Aoife Wafer during Sunday's Rugby World Cup quarter-final.

The incident occurred early in the second half in Exeter, though no action was taken during the game.

French captain Manae Feleu has also been suspended for three games - which could be reduced to two - for a dangerous tackle.
