Former Clare midfielder joins Westmeath senior hurling management team

Former Clare midfielder Ollie Baker has joined the Westmeath senior hurling management team for the coming season.

He'll work as a performance analyst under new boss Kevin O'Brien with Galway's Damien Coleman appointed as head coach.

Former Westmeath forward Brendan Murtagh will be a selector with ex Tullamore football manager Niall Stack the team psychologist.

Carlow's Netwatch Cullen Park will play host to this evening's 14th edition of Hurling For Cancer Research.

John Kiely will manage Jim Bolger's team in the charity match with All-Ireland winning boss Liam Cahill in charge of Davy Russell's side in the charity game.

Noel McGrath, Con O'Callaghan and the Championship's all-time top scorer Patrick Horgan are among the players taking part.
