Fexco Announced as Lead Sponsor of Kerry FC’s Women’s Development League team
The international fintech firm will support Kerry FC ahead of the launch of the new Women’s Development League under the League of Ireland
Fexco is proud to announce its support of Kerry FC as the lead sponsor of the newly launched Women’s Development Team, which will compete in the inaugural Women’s Development League under the League of Ireland from 2026.
As lead sponsor, Fexco will play a key role in supporting the growth of the women’s game at a pivotal moment, and this support aligns with Fexco’s commitment to advancing equal opportunities, supporting its communities, and investing in excellence. It also reinforces the company’s investment in the Kerry community, backing local talent and contributing to regional growth.
Announcing the sponsorship, Paula O’Sullivan, HR Director of Fexco Group, said: “Fexco is very proud to support Kerry FC’s Women’s Development Team as they establish the first elite-level pathway for young women footballers at the club. This partnership strongly aligns with our values of investing in our communities and supporting equal opportunities. We are excited to support one of the first teams in the Women’s Development League, which will no doubt inspire countless young women to get involved and stay involved in the sport.”
Billy Dennehy, CEO of Kerry FC said - “The launch of the UEFA-endorsed Women’s Development League represents a major step forward for elite women’s football in Ireland. As one of just ten clubs nationally selected to compete, our entry into senior women’s football is a transformative moment for the club and creates a clear, structured pathway for emerging female talent in our region. Having Fexco come on board as a sponsor is a hugely significant endorsement of that ambition, and their support will play a vital role as we build a sustainable future for women’s football at Kerry FC and within the wider community.”
Kerry FC is one of ten clubs in Ireland stepping up to senior women’s football for the first time, having previously participated in the EA SPORTS LOI Academy Development Programme. The launch of the Women’s Development Team marks the first elite-level pathway for young female footballers within the club.
With the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup on the horizon and domestic women’s football experiencing unprecedented momentum, the timing of the partnership positions Fexco at the forefront of a rapidly growing sporting landscape.
