It's understood the FAI will receive funding of up to 3-million euro for League of Ireland academies in the Budget, which will be revealed later today.
Last month, the FAI lodged a pre-budget submission calling for funding of almost 4.5 million euro for improvements in academy and coaching structures.
The Budget is due to be announced at Leinster House this afternoon by Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe and Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers.

The full amount would have created up to 80 jobs in clubs around the country.
The funding will be administered through Sport Ireland rather than the FAI
