FAI president Paul Cooke conceded no timeline has been placed on finding a new Republic of Ireland manager.

An update was given on the hunt for Stephen Kenny’s successor at last night’s board meeting.

Lee Carsley remains in the FAI’s thinking, and independent chair Tony Keohane said an appointment would come in ‘the not too distant future’.
