East Kerry are the final side into the semi-finals of the Garvey’s SuperValu County Senior Football Championship.
They’re through after a 13 points to 1-7 victory over Kenmare Shamrocks.
The very first score of the game was a 3rd minute Kenmare penalty; Paul O'Connor converting the spot kick. After East Kerry pointed Kenmare did the same and it was 1-1 to 0-1 eight minutes in. After East Kerry doubled their total they had a goal disallowed for square ball. A 14th minute point did count and it cut the gap to the minimum at 1-1 to 3 points. It was a low scoring affair, unsurprising given the wet conditions, and 3 minutes from half-time Kenmare were ahead by 1-3 to 4 points. The lead was halved in the closing minute of the half. Kenmare were ahead 1-3 to 0-5 at the break.

East Kerry equalised within 2 minutes of the restart courtesy of David Clifford. His Kerry team-mate Sean O'Shea was next to put over and Kenmare were back in front after 35 minutes. 2 quick points had East Kerry ahead for the first time at 8 points to 1-4. Kenmare equalised in the 40th minute. At the three-quarter stage East Kerry were in front by the minimum, 10 points to 1-6. David Clifford doubled that East Kerry advantage with 11 minutes to go. Kenmare halved that inside the final 2 minutes but East Kerry were next to score and it was East Kerry 12 points Kenmare 1-7 in added on time. A free from distance from David Clifford made it a 3 point game in the 3rd of 4 added on minutes. East Kerry had to survive the latest of scares as a fisted Kenmare effort hit the outside of the post at the end.
