Galway 1-18 Waterford 1-12

Galway are through to a second successive TG4 All-Ireland senior semi-final following this six point victory over Waterford in Tuam Stadium on Saturday.
A Kate Slevin first half penalty laid the platform for Daniel Moynihan’s charges as they went nine points clear but Lauren McGregor’s strike early in the second period breathed new life in the Deise challenge.
Galway got off to the perfect start with Eva Noone pointing after 45 seconds. And the hosts followed that up with three more for Olivia Divilly, Ailbhe Davoren and a Slevin free.
The Tribeswomen created their best chance when Chellene Trill blasted wide on 10 minutes. But Galway got their goal just two minutes later after Davoren fed Slevin.
The Claregalway forward found Eva Noone who won a penalty which Slevin converted. Galway were 1-4 to 0-0 clear but Waterford nearly made a breakthrough when Chloe Fennell and Áine O’Neill were denied by a double save from keeper Dearbhla Gower and Bronagh Quinn.
McGregor put the rebound over before Divilly restored Galway’s seven point cushion. The sides shared the next four white flags before the break leaving it 1-7 to 0-3 at half-time. Galway maintained the momentum after the restart with Divilly adding two points. But McGregor and Bríd McMaugh reduced arrears to 1-9 to 0-5 on 34 minutes.
Galway pulled 1-12 to 0-6 clear as Slevin (2) and Davoren tallied against McGregor’s sole response. But the latter brought Waterford back to life when she struck her seventh goal of the championship after good play down the middle through Hannah Power and Aileen Wall.
Waterford put Galway on the back foot as points for McMaugh (2) and McGregor left the Munster finalists just 1-14 to 1-9 behind. Eva Noone and Slevin got the Galway minors but two more added through Divilly and Slevin restored a seven point cushion on 51 minutes.
After McGregor added a Waterford free, substitute Roisin Leonard landed two between the posts to effectively secure Galway’s semi-final date with Dublin. Waterford finished with McMaugh and McGregor picking off points but it was just too late.

Dublin 3-15 Cork 0-7
By Daire Walsh
Hannah Tyrrell struck 1-5 at Parnell Park on Saturday afternoon as Dublin booked their place in the TG4 All-Ireland senior football championship semi-finals with a convincing victory over Cork.
Fresh from scoring a hat-trick of goals in their comprehensive group stage win over Leitrim last month, Dublin corner-forward Kate Sullivan got the ball rolling in this contest with a third-minute point.
Their Leeside counterparts twice levelled matters in the opening quarter courtesy of Katie Quirke and Maire O’Callaghan finding the target either side of a Tyrrell effort, but Chloe Darby – drafted into the team to replace captain Carla Rowe – edged the Jackies back in front with a well-taken score.
Hannah McGinnis also split the posts in fine style and after Sullivan was fouled inside the square on 14 minutes, the ever-reliable Tyrrell slotted the resulting penalty beyond the reach of Cork netminder Sarah Murphy. Nicole Owens also raised a white flag inside the second-quarter and despite Laura O’Mahony responding with a fine point at the opposite end, Dublin reasserted their authority with a close-range free from Tyrrell.
While Quirke added her second point in the closing stages of the first half, the hosts ultimately brought a 1-6 to 0-4 lead into the interval.
This left Cork with plenty of ground to cover playing against a breeze on the restart, but Quirke did bring fresh impetus to their play with a quick two-point salvo. Yet Dublin maintained a potent attacking threat and settled back into the action with unanswered contributions from the St Sylvester’s duo of Owens and Sullivan (two).
Tyrrell also knocked over a free after a short Cork kick-out had gone astray and thanks to her second score from play moments later, the Jackies were eight points in front (1-11 to 0-6) at the beginning of the final-quarter.
This had all the appearances of an unassailable cushion, but Dublin nevertheless added further efforts through the boots of Hetherton (two) and Tyrrell in advance of Cork attacker Quirke bagged her fifth point of the tie.
Before substitute Laura Grendon kicked a last-minute point, Sullivan and the raiding Sinead Goldrick fired home a goal apiece in the space of 60 seconds to wrap up the win.
Scorers – Dublin: H Tyrrell 1-5 (1-0 pen, 0-2f), K Sullivan 1-3, S Goldrick 1-0, N Owens, N Hetherton 0-2 each, H McGinnis, C Darby, L Grendon 0-1 each.
Cork: K Quirke 0-5 (3f), M O’Callaghan, L O’Mahony 0-1 each.

Armagh 0-15 Donegal 0-5
By Dáire Bonnar
Armagh prevailed thanks to a strong first-half showing to defeat Donegal in the TG4 Ladies Senior Football Championship relegation play-off in Stewartstown and ensure their top flight status for 2026.
Joe Feeney’s Armagh, with the wind to their backs for the opening 30 minutes, soared clear with five points in the opening seven minutes, Niamh Reel picking off two points.
After a lull in the game and Jodie McFadden having a goal chance go wide for Donegal, Armagh continued their dominance as Lauren McConville and Caroline O’Hanlon hit a brace of points, with McFadden getting Donegal on the board just before the break.
O’Hanlon converted a free to make it 0-11 to 0-1 at the break, but Donegal started well in the second half, as McFadden kicked a point 30 seconds in and Cait Gillespie fisted over from close range.
Armagh did respond as Catherine Marley broke through to point, while Reel kicked another free for her fourth score of the game.
Katie Dowds hit a great point into the wind for James Daly’s side, but they then lost captain Róisín Rodgers to a black card as the game entered the final quarter.
Rodgers returned to play with just the one point scored in that time as O’Hanlon kicked another free to restore the ten-point lead.
And as McFadden and Reel traded late frees, it was Armagh who ensured their safety, while Donegal will face Leitrim in the relegation play-off final, with the loser being relegated to the TG4 Intermediate Championship next season.
Scorers - Armagh: N Reel 0-5 (4f), C O’Hanlon 0-4 (4f), L McConville 0-2, N Henderson, A McCoy, E Druse, C Marley 0-1 each.

Mayo 2-14
Leitrim 0-13
By Stuart Tynan
Mayo have secured their place in the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship for 2026 after seeing off Leitrim in this relegation play-off at Kilcoyne Park in Tubbercurry.
Leitrim made a bright start, scoring the opening two points through Muireann Devaney and Michelle Guckian, a free. While Mayo were scoreless for the opening eight minutes, the direct running of Sinead Walsh, Aoife Geraghty and Annie Gough was causing problems for the Leitrim backline, while Lynda Hanley was denied a goal in the opening 90 seconds after a great save by Michelle Guckian.
Gough opened Mayo’s account thanks to a great run by Aoife Geraghty, followed by Walsh’s first of the afternoon, and the MacHale Rovers player scored Mayo’s first goal on 12 minutes.
Walsh added another point before Ailbhe Clancy stopped the rot for Leitrim with their first score for 11 minutes, with Clodagh Keane soon responding for Mayo.
Mayo missed a great opportunity for a second goal on 21 minutes, Hanley once again denied by Guckian.
Devaney then kicked two superb points from tight angles to make it a two-point game, but points from Kathryn Sullivan and Walsh either side of a Leah Fox score put Mayo 1-6 to 0-6 up at half-time.
Leitrim were unable to eat into that lead in the first ten minutes of the second half as efforts from Ailbhe Clancy, Leah Fox and Laura O’Dowd were matched by Ava McDonnell, Walsh (free) and Hannah Reape.
Michelle Guckian continued her heroics between the posts, this time saving a Gough penalty after Clodagh Keane was brought down, and Devaney’s fourth point for Leitrim appeared to give them the momentum but McDonnell, Erin Murray (two) and Walsh (free) gave Mayo breathing space with ten minutes remaining.
Any faint hopes of Leitrim rescuing this game were ended after McDonnell finished a flowing move into the net as Mayo secured senior football for 2026, while Leitrim now face Donegal in the relegation play-off final next weekend.
Scorers – Mayo: S Walsh 1-5 (0-3f), A McDonnell 1-2, E Murray 0-3, A Gough 0-1, C Keane 0-1, K Sullivan 0-1, H Reape 0-1.
Leitrim: A Clancy 0-5 (1f, 1 pen), M Devaney 0-4, L Fox 0-2, M Guckian 0-1f, L O’Dowd 0-1.
MAYO: J Gawalkiewicz; L Wallace, N O’Malley, C Durkin; D Caldwell, E Brennan, S El Massry; H Reape, S Lally; L Hanley, S Walsh, A Geraghty; A Gough, C Keane, K Sullivan. Subs: E Murray for Brennan (ht), A McDonnell for Hanley (ht), C Whyte for Gough (49), N Mooney for El Massry (57), L Keane for C Keane (59).
