soccerDrogheda United’s return to European football is under threat due to UEFA rules on club ownership.
The County Louth side, who qualified for the Europa Conference League by winning the FAI Cup last November, now face uncertainty after Danish club Silkeborg also secured a spot in the same competition.
Both clubs are owned by the US-based Trivela Group, along with English side Walsall.
UEFA regulations prohibit clubs with shared ownership from competing in the same tournament.
Drogheda say they are in talks with UEFA to resolve the issue ahead of the second qualifying round draw on June 18.
