New Zealand’s Laurel Hubbard has become the first ever transgender athlete to be selected for the Olympics.
The 43-year old weightlifter will compete in the women’s super-heavyweight category at the games in Tokyo.
Hubbard competed in men’s events before coming out as transgender in 2013.
The IOC changed its rules to allow transgender athletes to take part in the Olympics in 2015.
