Ken Doherty has been beaten 10-frames-to-6 by Marco Fu in their second round match at World Snooker Championship qualifying.
Elsewhere Aaron Hill beat Daniel Womersley 10-3.
That means Hill is the only Republic of Ireland player left who can play at the Crucible this year.
