A slow start on the road proved to be decisive in the game as the Vikings took the win. Cougars trailed 21-11 at the end of the first Qtr. Despite a good start they missed good opportunities to take the lead but despite good three pointers from Conor Flynn & Mark OShea it was the home side through Osi Oshiogwemoh and Conor Fenton who were in control as they both shot well to give the home side a deserved lead.

Cougars had a good second qtr to reduce the arrears as the Vikings held the lead 35-27. 3 pointers by Jack Lynch and Tommy Bowler saw an improved Cougars just edge the qtr.

A similar third qtr saw an improving Cougars maintain the comeback with hard earned baskets by Andrew Fitzgerald, Peadar Cronin and Justin Tuason, with Conor Fenton making some big scores for the home side as Cougars continued to trail 51-44.

In the final qtr Cougars were in foul trouble, losing Justin Tuason, Andrew Fitzgerald Conor Flynn in the closing stages. The Vikings saw the game out as the Cougars challenge faded out in a competitive contest. Next up for the Cougars an way trip to the undefeated League Leaders UCC Demons.

Kingdom WheelBlasters won 42-29 against South East Swift's in the National Wheelchair Basketball League.

Team Garvey's St. Mary's Castleisland host IT Carlow later in the Missquote.ie Women's Superleague.
