City lose at Newcastle; North London derby today

Arsenal can move 6 points clear of Chelsea at the top of the Premier League this afternoon.

Standing in their way are neighbours Tottenham who travel to the leaders for the North London Derby.

City slipped up with a 2-1 defeat away to Newcastle.

Champions Liverpool have lost 6 of their last 7, the latest was a 3-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest.

Championship leaders Coventry survived a scare to extend their advantage at the top of the table to seven points.

Frank Lampard's side overturned a 2-nil deficit to beat West Brom 3-2.

Second placed Middlesbrough could only draw 1-all at Oxford.

Southampton made it three wins in a row with a 5-1 thrashing of Charlton, while Bristol City's 3-nil victory over managerless Swansea in the other early kick-off moved them up to fourth.

Former Rangers manager Philippe Clement ((pron: clem-on)) suffered a 4-1 defeat at Birmingham in his first game in charge of Norwich.

Watford overturned a 2-nil deficit to get past Derby 3-2, while QPR won by the same score against Hull.

Portsmouth triumphed 3-1 over Millwall and Leicester edged Stoke 2-1.

Ipswich drew nil-nil with Wrexham at Portman Road.

There's a big derby clash from mid-day as Sheffield Wednesday take on Sheffield United.
