British racing will go on strike next month as part of protests against a planned rise in the betting tax.
All meetings scheduled for the 10th September have been cancelled after an agreement was reached between the main stakeholders in the sport.
The strike is in response to plans to raise the current 15 per cent duty on racing to the 21 per cent levied on games of chance.
Should the action go ahead, it will be the first time the sport has voluntarily refused to race in modern history.
