British qualifier causes the first shock of Australian Open

British qualifier Arthur Fery caused the first shock of the Australian Open by beating Italian 20th seed Flavio Cobolli on day one.

The world number 185 won in straight sets in Melbourne, matching the biggest victory of his career in his first overseas Grand Slam main draw.

The world's top ranked players are both safely through - with Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka both winning.
