Brighton striker extends stay at club

Brighton striker Danny Welbeck has triggered a one-year option in his contract to extend his stay at the club until the summer of 2027.

The 35-year-old is Brighton's top scorer this season with 11 goals in 30 appearances.

Newcastle United's Nick Woltemade has emerged as a doubt ahead of the Magpies' clash with Manchester United tomorrow night due to illness.

However, Jacob Ramsey will be available for that fixture, while Tino Livramento is also nearing a return from injury.
