Sam Bennett has been forced to pull out of the Vuelta Espana.
The Carrick-on-Suir sprinter tested positive for Covid-19 this morning and was withdrawn ahead of today’s time trial.
Bennett had been in contention for the green jersey, trailing Mads Pedersen by just five points.

Remco Evenepoel won today’s time trial to stretch his lead in the race for the red jersey to 2-minutes and 41-seconds.
