Australia to head into T20 World Cup as host and holders

Australia's cricketers will head into next year's T20 World Cup as host and holders.

They won the title for the first time with an 8-wicket victory over rivals New Zealand in the final in Dubai.

Australia passed their target of 173 with seven balls to spare.

New Zealand were also runners-up in the 50-over finals in 2015 and 2019.
