Anthony Barry, the Chelsea coach, is to leave his position as assistant to Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny to take a job with the Belgian national team.

Barry was credited as being a key figure in the revival of the Irish team under Kenny towards the end of the World Cup qualification campaign.

Barry’s first game in his new job will be against Ireland in a friendly, while it’s understood he will continue on the staff of Chelsea.
