Roman Abramovich has received an apology from publisher HarperCollins for printing claims that Russia's president Vladimir Putin ordered him to buy Chelsea.

The Premier League club's owner has accepted a settlement in a defamation case, the proceeds of which will go to charity.

The allegation was made by billionaire Sergei Pugachev in the book 'Putin's People', written by Catherine Belton.
