Irishman Alex Dunne came from 19th on the grid to finish 2nd in the F2 sprint race in Barcelona.
The Offaly native was given a 13 place grid penalty after running into the back of another car when entering the pits during a free practice session.
There was no issue for the new championship leader who weaved his way onto the podium after a brilliant drive in Spain.
