The R-and-A have confirmed that the 2026 Open Championship will be played at Royal Birkdale.
It will be the Southport course’s eleventh time to host, and the first since 2017 when the Claret Jug was won by Jordan Spieth.
The announcement comes just over a week before the 151st Open down the road at Hoylake.
