Rugby union's Six Nations will trial the use of 20-minute red cards for the first time in this year's championship.
Someone sent off for a technical offence can be replaced by a team-mate, in a proposal aimed at punishing players and not teams.
But referees can still award permanent red cards for deliberate or dangerous acts of foul play.
