World Rugby has approved the global trial of the 20-minute red card in elite competitions.
The controversial law was in effect for the most recent Men's and Women's Six Nations Championship, and will be in effect at the upcoming Women's World Cup.
The IRFU had voiced their disapproval over the law trial back in October, but are reportedly now in favour of it.

It is the final step before the law goes to the World Rugby Council, who will then vote on whether to officially commit it to the Laws of the Game.
