RTÉ Director-General Kevin Bakhurt announced yesterday his plan for the organisation including a salary cap of €250,000 and reducing staff numbers by up to 400.
On Tuesday, the Government approved €56 million in funding for the organisation which is in financial crisis – €16 million for this year and a further €40 million next year.
