This year Radio Kerry is partnering with youth groups around the county to celebrate and promote the range of activities and pursuits available to young people in Kerry, particularly in areas outside of sport, and encourage and inspire both young people and adults to participate in local opportunities. The groups involved in the project are: Kerry Comhairle na nÓg KCYS Youth Advisory Council Jigsaw Youth Advisory Panel Kerry ETB Students Council
Our latest episode is focusing on youth theatre and the arts, where we learn all about how the young people of Kerry are expressing themselves creatively.
In studio we are joined with Christian Gleasure who has helped produce this episode, along with Charley Harris who has experience in theatre in Kerry and Hannah O'Sullivan to discuss the importance of accessible theatre.
We also hear the experience of young filmmakers and their tutors at youth film events, including Deirdre Enright, Creative Youth Co-Ordinator for Kerry ETB.
We hear the experiences of some young people involved in youth theatre and film throughout Kerry in different groups. These include Shout Out Youth Theatre in Listowel, The Creative Local Youth Partnership, and Dingle Youth Theatre.
