Radio Kerry's Youth Voice Series is giving young people around Kerry the chance to explore all the different resources and opportunities for them around the county, it's a joint collaboration between Radio Kerry, Kerry ETB, Tusla, Jigsaw and KCYS.
Today's episode is examining the lived experience of young adults who are neurodivergent or have other invisible disabilities. We examine a variety of programmes and resources available in the county as well as the experience of some of their service users. We also examine the common occurrence of late ASD diagnosis in female as teenagers and young adults.
A huge thanks to Dylan in Studio 3 and Tara from Inspired for their time in making this episode, as well as service users of Inspired, Lydia and Lauren. Also thanks to Charley Harris for sharing her story of her late ASD diagnosis, and to Neil Moore Ryan, who was not only a contributor to the programme but who did extensive research and sourced the interviewees for the show.
