This week on Ours to Protect we spoke with some students from MTU Kerry, who won an award for their idea for a sustainable business.
Did you know?....
Two fourth year students from Munster Technological University were recently honoured for a sustainable fashion project they developed.
The project was an idea for an app that aim to reduce the consumption of fast fashion.
It would do this by allowing people re-purpose clothes they already have in their wardrobes and finding new ways to get more wear out of certain pieces of clothes.
This would hopefully help reduce the wear once mindset some people have about fast fashion.
Takeaway?....
The two students found during their research that quite a lot of college students are mindful of fast fashion.
They recommend learning more about where clothes come from, and trying to make what you have work before buying something new.
Try to buy pieces you will be more likely to re-wear multiple times.
