Under the Government’s plan, it is illegal to keep an XL bully unless the dog’s owner has a certificate of exemption. Local authorities issue these certificates which allows the owner keep the dog until it dies. Jerry spoke to Claire Quinlan who is a qualified professional dog training instructor and certified and accredited canine behaviour consultant with the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants. After this interview, the High Court granted an injunction to prevent XL bully dogs already under the care of animal shelters and charities from being put down, as per new regulations.
