Today is World Mental Health Day and in this county, the Kerry Mental Health Association is marking it with fundraising events including a nine-hour Irish dancing marathon and #TieDayFriday. To support: https://www.idonate.ie/advanced-donation-form/KerryMentalHealth. Jerry broadcasts a special Kerry Today from Kirby’s Brogue Inn on Rock Street, Tralee. Jerry spoke to John Drummey, general manager of Kerry Mental Health Association. Fiona Kirby and Kevin Cotter own Kirby’s Brogue Inn and have been long-standing supporters of mental health initiatives. Also lending their support are Siobhán Donnelly, head of marketing with Cara Credit Union, and TJ O’Connor who’s head of section at MTU’s hotel, culinary arts, and tourism department. Radio Kerry afternoon show broadcaster Brendan Fuller has set himself the challenge to take part in the Irish dancing marathon. He’s lucky to have support from Dingle’s David Geaney, five-time world Irish dancing champion!
