“Why Did You Accept the RTÉ Director-General’s Resignation?” – June 29th, 2023

That’s the question Kerry TD Brendan Griffin put to the chair of the board of RTÉ Siún Ní Raghallaigh. At the Oireachtas Media Committee hearing, he asked if she felt it was a mistake accepting the resignation of the state broadcaster’s director-general Dee Forbes as this meant she was under no obligation to go before the Oireachtas committee and answer questions. RTÉ has been in crisis since news broke that hidden payments had been given to broadcaster Ryan Tubridy.
