Dingle Hub and Corca Dhuibhne Community Forum are organising a 'Quiet Lanes' trial on the Ventry High Road on Sunday, September 21st.
A ‘Quiet Lane’ or a ‘Quiet Road’ is a designated rural road with already low traffic volumes that is used by local residents and for agricultural activity but is also protected for pedestrians and cyclists.
Dingle Hub is part of a National Pathfinder Project to help people in the countryside get around without using their cars.
Manager of Dingle Hub Deirdre de Bhailís says they want to test the idea in two places - the High Road in Ceann Trá and Dún Chaoin.
