Jerry spoke to Mayor of Tralee Labour councillor Terry O’Brien who was contacted by a person with disabilities who would not find it suitable to vote in a polling vote. To apply for a postal vote, this person needed a doctor to sign a document stating for medical reasons, they needed to vote by post. However, the doctor charged the person €15. Cllr O'Brien, who is a wheelchair user and works for the Irish Wheelchair Association, says people should not be charged under these circumstances as it relates to their right to vote as citizens.
