The End of the Elizabethan Era – September 9th, 2022

Elizabeth II, who died yesterday at the age of 96, was the British queen for 70 years – the longest reigning monarch. Grace McCrea from Rathmore is devoted to the British royal family. James Finnegan is president of Tralee Toastmasters; he met the Queen on several occasions and also sang for her. Anne-Marie Drummey, who’s originally from Tralee, has lived in Windsor for more than 20 years.  Some listeners are unhappy about the show’s coverage of her death given the history between Britain and Ireland.
