Skellig Michael due to reopen on May 16th

The Office of Public Works has announced that Skellig Michael will reopen to the public on May 16th.

The guide service on the UNESCO World Heritage site will begin on that date, subject to weather conditions.

The site was home to a monastic community from at least the eighth century, but was abandoned in the 13th century.
