Should Those Who Give Character References for Criminals Be Cross-Examined? – June 29th, 2022

High Court judge David Keane said this during the sentence hearing of a man convicted of the repeated rape and sexual assault of his young son.

The man’s lawyers asked the court to receive a number of character references including letters from his parents and his current partner.
