Shortage of Beds for Tourists Identified – March 30th, 2023

Yesterday tourism leaders gave evidence to an Oireachtas committee in which they called for a ‘more balanced approach’ to housing refugees. The Oireachtas Tourism Committee heard that 32% of tourist beds in Dublin are now being used for humanitarian accommodation. Eoghan O’Mara Walsh, chief executive of the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation, was one of those who testified.
