Fianna Fáil councillor Michael O’Shea says the admissions policy of Presentation Secondary School, Milltown has been of concern to some parents and students. The school says is admissions policy is reviewed regularly, to ensure it’s fair and in line with legislation. It says if priority was given to students attending the national schools closest to the school, then those living in more rural areas would be penalised and run a greater risk of not getting a place in any secondary school. Presentation Secondary School, Milltown says it’s extremely challenging to be so significantly oversubscribed and says placing applicants on a waiting list is difficult for everyone.
