Parents and relatives of people with intellectual disabilities who live in St Mary of the Angels in Beaufort are fearful for their loved ones’ futures. St John of God, which runs the residential facility, has told the Minister for Health that it needs State support to deal with an accumulated legacy deficit of over €32m or it could face liquidation. St John of God Community Services is one of the main providers nationally of services for people with disability and mental health challenges.
