Upland areas of Kerry, particularly those with a lot of forestry, bore the brunt of power outages last week as a result of the cold, snowy and icy weather. Some people living in Brosna were without power and water for five days. Joe Harrington lives in one of those upland areas, Lyreacrompane, and he shared his thoughts as to what needs to be done to prevent such lengthy outages in the future.
