Jerry speaks to Pat Doyle, CEO of the Peter McVerry Trust. Last year the charity – an approved social housing body – helped almost 200 people who were homeless in Kerry. The trust is seeking properties that need to be renovated. Mr Doyle says the Peter McVerry Trust can help owners of properties who can’t afford to have them repaired. Under the Repair and Leasing Scheme, people can lease their property for 25 years to councils or approved housing bodies which, in turn, will carry out necessary repairs.
