57-year-old Paul Sweeney from Listowel was on holidays in Benidorm when he became unwell with bacterial meningitis and suffered a brain-injury.
Paul’s family started fund-raising to help bring Mr Sweeney back from Spain to University Hospital Kerry; the target set was €36,800. That’s been passed as of Monday afternoon, over €41,000 has been raised. Paul’s son-in-law Padraig Long spoke to Jerry.
