Minister of State for Local Government Peter Burke has issued a draft direction to Kerry County Council to change maps relating to the County Development Plan in order to open up Kerry to more wind energy development. Councillors Fionnán Fitzgerald and Jackie Healy-Rae are not happy. Councillors voted to restrict wind farm development in the new County Development Plan last month.
