One Year After Skellig Star Direct Provision Centre Closed - September 2nd, 2021

It’s a year to the day since the last residents left the Skellig Star, a direct provision centre in Cahersiveen. The former Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan ordered a review into the opening of direct provision centres during the pandemic, including the centre in Cahersiveen, following the public outcry. That report is still awaited, well over a year on. Eamonn Hickson has been looking back on opening of the Skellig Star Direct Provision Centre
