Tidy Towns groups will no longer have to pay for their own insurance, once they are registered with their council.
This follows a deal between in local authorities and IPB (Irish Public Bodies) Insurance, to create a community insurance scheme. The comprehensive scheme will include cover for public liability and volunteer insurance.
